I’m not a poet,
So they say.
And though I know it,
I’m still cliché.
I’ve written verse
For many years.
My words are terse,
Bring some to tears.
If this makes you sigh,
You’re not the first.
If it makes you cry,
You’re not the worst.
If this wastes your time,
Then I’m to blame.
‘Cause how can I rhyme
With a name
Like Jeremy Allmendinger?
